| Dear ROM SAF DATA User Issued : 2024-05-28 06:10 UTC In relation to the upgrade to PPF 6.0 by the EUMETSAT Secretariat in April 2024, there will be an upgrade of the ROM SAF Metop Offline and ICDR products beginning with data from April 2024. The ROM SAF processing system will be upgraded to GPAC 3.6. The product version will be increased to 1.3. The ROM SAF Offline products consists of the following geophysical variables: - Level 1B: bending angle (GRM-08, GRM-46, GRM-66) - Level 2A: refractivity, dry temperature (GRM-09, GRM-47, GRM-67, GRM-101, GRM-103, GRM-105) - Level 2B: temperature, humidity, pressure (GRM-10, GRM-11, GRM-12, GRM-48, GRM-49, GRM-50, GRM-68, GRM-69, GRM-70) - Level 2C: surface pressure (GRM-13, GRM-51, GRM-71), tropopause height (GRM-24) - Level 3: gridded monthly means of all geophysical variables (GRM-53 to GRM-59, GRM-73 to GRM-79, GRM-83 to GRM-89, GRM-93 to GRM-99, GRM-191, GRM-192, GRM-193, GRM-194) The ROM SAF ICDR products consists of the following geophysical variables: - Level 1B: bending angle (GRM-29-I1) - Level 2A: refractivity, dry temperature (GRM-29-I1) - Level 2B: temperature, humidity, pressure (GRM-29-I1) - Level 2C: surface pressure, tropopause height (GRM-29-I1) - Level 3: gridded monthly means of all geophysical variables (GRM-29-I1) The following changes should be noted: - Hemispheric-dependent biases between rising and setting occultations at high altitudes are reduced - The vertical upper limit for the high-resolution data is increased to about 95 km - The BUFR files are encoded using Master Table Version 39, and thus Master Table Version 39 (or higher) is required to decode the BUFR data - In the Offline data, the time significance in the BUFR files (descriptor 0 08 021) is set to 25, meaning ’nominal reporting time’, and consequently the time increment (descriptor 0 04 016) is always zero; this change is not applied to the ICDR data Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions related to the data.
