There has been an interruption in the upstream GRAS processing earlier today
which has affected the ROM SAF Metop-A and B NRT level 2a production.
The products were/are flagged accordingly.

Dear all,

unfortunately, I have to report that the operational processing chains for the GRAS instruments onboard both Metop satellites suffered from an anomaly in EUMETSAT's ground segments earlier today, which led to a reset of the Precise Orbit Determination system for both Metop-A *and* -B. GRAS level 1 as well as downstream level2 data products are affected, exhibiting the usual 4 hour period of degraded data quality. Data is flagged accordingly. The precise times are:

Metop-A: data after 10/12/2013 12:03 UTC sensing time is degraded
Metop-B: data after 10/12/2013 12:42 UTC sensing time is degraded

Correspondingly, we expect that GRAS products will be of nominal quality again shortly after 16:05 UTC (Metop-A) and 16:50 UTC (Metop-B), respectively.

In addition to that, Metop-A suffered from a half-hour outage of level0 data last Friday, 06/12/2013, due to problems with a data downlink station. After level0 data became available again, GRAS level 1 and level 2 data were degraded starting around 17:20 UTC, with nominal data quality being available again around 21:30 UTC. As for today, Metop-A data was flagged accordingly.
