Description
Dear GRAS SAF GTS User Issued 2009-08-27 14:10 UTC The GRAS SAF have experienced an outage of GRAS level 1b data. No GRAS SAF products were disseminated between instrument sensing times 2009-08-26 13:39:09 UTC and 2009-08-26 15:49:33 UTC. The following message was received from Eumetsat, 2009-08-26. --- snip --- Dear all, the GRAS level 1 data is back to nominal quality again. After we had stopped the dissemination of GRAS level 1B data in order not to bother you with degraded data, we have enabled the dissemination again earlier this evening. Data should be available from measurement times 15:48 UTC onwards. Please note that the data will continue to be flagged as degraded until about 20:35 UTC (measurement times). With kind regards, Christian. -- Dr. Christian Marquardt, Polar System Product Expert EUMETSAT, Am Kavalleriesand 31, D-64295 Darmstadt, Germany --- snip --- The level 1 processing at Eumetsat suffered an anomaly 2009-08-24. The anomaly did not lead to outages in the GRAS SAF production and the automatic GRAS SAF quality checks have been within normal levels. The following message was received from Eumetsat, 2009-08.-26. --- snip --- Dear all, unfortunately, I have to report another POD reset in the GRAS processing that occurred on Monday, 24.08.2009 at 10:33 (measurement times). The reason was that due to maintenance work on the operational ground segment - about half an hour of level 0 data from all instruments was not processed at all. For GRAS, that of course triggered a reset in the Precise Orbit Determination as soon as the data became available again. As usual, all GRAS data has been flagged as degraded for 8 hours after the reset. I apologize for not informing you earlier about this. Due to a power outage over the last weekend, our monitoring (which is not regarded as an operational facility) was down and could only be fully recovered during late yesterday afternoon, which is when we realized that the reset had occurred. With kind regards, and our regrets for possibly having caused inconveniences on your side, Christian. -- Dr. Christian Marquardt, Polar System Product Expert EUMETSAT, Am Kavalleriesand 31, D-64295 Darmstadt, Germany --- snip --- Best regards The GRAS SAF Team
