| Dear ROM SAF GTS User Issued : 2019-06-14 08:59 UTC GRAS level 1 Metop-A Incorrect orbit number in Metop-A product files Please see the message from EUMETSAT below Kind regards The ROM SAF Team Message number: 5918 Message creation: Fri Jun 14 08:50:50 GMT+00:00 2019 Type: Service Alert Ann Nr: 4857 Rev: 4 Start Time: 2019-06-06 15:42:00.0 End Time: 2019-06-14 06:15:00.0 Satellites: Metop-A Subject: ground-segment-anomaly Detail: Incorrect orbit number in Metop-A product files: Metop-A completed its 65535th orbit on 6 June 2019. The orbit number in the Main Product Header (MPHR) of the Level 0 product files rolled over to 0 at the next, 65536th, orbit. It is increasing in the expected way since then from this lower base. Users who rely on the orbit number to uniquely identify the Metop-A data records should take corrective actions to remove any ambiguities.[Rev:2]: Products and Services updated .[Rev:3]: A fix for this anomaly is planned to be deployed on 14 June around 09:00UTC. After the correction the orbit numbers will revert to correct values from that time onwards. The number of the first corrected orbit will be confirmed after the implementation of the fix. Please note that once implemented, the corrected orbit number will be greater than 65536.The EARS service will be corrected at a later date.[Rev:4]:The problem was corrected for the global data for Metop-A orbit 65644 beginning at sensing time DOY 165 06:15:00 UTC. It was corrected for EARS as well.
