Dear all,

the Metop-A in-plane manoeuvre took place as planned earlier today, and the GRAS processing was reset at 14:21 UTC (measurement time). The orbit estimates has been converging since then as expected, and data quality should be nominal again around 18:30 UTC. Please note that the bending angle quality of GRAS level 1 products is flagged as degraded until that point in time.

With kind regards,

 Christian.

Subject: Metop-A manoeuvre on 31 Mar 2011

Dear all,

Metop-A will undergo an in-plan manoeuvre on coming Thursday, 31. March 2011 around 13:20 UTC. The manoeuvre aims at both grounding the wheels inside the spacecraft as well as maintaining Metop's ground track within specifications.

Most instruments including GRAS will remain to be in measurement mode, but we do expect that a reset of the Precise Orbit Determination in the GRAS data processing will be necessary shortly after the manoeuvre. This will cause a degradation of the bending angle products for up to four hours; the data will be flagged accordingly.

I will keep you informed about the progess of the manoeuvre as far it is relevant for GRAS on Thursday.

With kind regards,

 Chris.
