Subject: A short period of data GRAS level 1 data degradation

Dear all,

the network maintenance activities performed at ESOC this morning have indeed caused a short degradation (but no outage) of GSN products, resulting in degraded POD performance for a period between (roughly) 09:00 and 09:30 UTC sensing times today, 15. February 2012. Level 1 bending angles are characterized by increased biases and standard deviations (both in the order of 10-15 microradians) at high altitudes during this period. We expect that you'll observe increased rejection rates for GRAS data in your QC systems during this period.

The event did not trigger a reset of the Precise Orbit Determination, and data quality now appears to be back to normal (we are still watching our quality monitoring). Therefore, the data is *not* flagged as degraded.

We will inform you if further degradations of GRAS data quality occur; if you won't get further emails from me, bending angle data quality will have remained to be within the nominal requirements.

With kind regards,

 Chris.
