Dear ROM SAF GTS User

Issued 2013-08-27 13:05 UTC.

Upstream Metop-A GRAS level 1b data was degraded/unavailable between 08:17 - 19:99 UTC today. The ROM SAF Metop-A GRM-01 product was flagged accordingly.

The ROM SAF Metop-B GRM-40 product was not affected.

Dear all,

due to some unfortunate coincidences, the processing on our operational Metop-A ground segment lost a few level0 PDUs for all instrument between 08:17 and 08:47 UTC (sensing times) during which no higher level products are available. The GRAS processor went through a reset afterwards and generated degraded level1 products until 10:00 UTC, when we re-initialised the Metop-A orbit solution with data from our backup ground system which was not affected by the level0 outage. During this period, the data was flagged accordingly.

In summary: GRAS/Metop-A was data not available or (flagged as) degraded between 08:17 - 10:00 UTC on 27 Aug 2013.

Metop-B data was not affected.
