Degradation of GRAS/Metop-B data 20-22 Septembert 2014
DATE:   2014-09-22 10:24
TYPE:   NRT-GTS
Description
Dear ROM SAF GTS User

Issued : 2014-09-22 10:23 UTC

Metop-B GRAS data were degraded from 20 September to 22 September due to an anomaly related to the processing of clock data for the GRAS instrument onboard Metop-B, please see mail from EUMETSAT below. It caused a reduction in the number of produced refractivity profiles in the ROM SAF Metop-B NRT products

The Metop-A products were not affected.

Kind regards
The ROM SAF Team

Dear all,

unfortunately, we experienced an anomaly related to the processing of clock data for the GRAS instrument onboard Metop-B. Problems started around mid-day on Saturday, 21. Sep 2014, and lasted until this morning, when the issue was discovered in the monitoring and corrected. In particular, mid and upper stratospheric data was characterized by huge biases.

By now, data quality is back to nominal. Data from the GRAS instrument onboard Metop-A was not affected.

We apologize!

Chris.
