| Dear ROM SAF DATA User Issued : 2016-12-07 08:20 UTC Following anomalies with data production have been identified: * Offline COSMIC data for the period until April 2014 was produced with the following 1D-Var background matrix: bg_ses_ecmwf_error_corr_L137.nc This is a new B matrix derived from averaging ECMWF SES error fields. * For the period May 2014 to July 2015 the data are erroneously produced with the standard B matrix in ROPP: ropp_bg_ecmwf_error_corr_L137.nc The 1D-Var algorithm and construction of background matrix is described in the ATBD available here: http://www.romsaf.org/product_documents/romsaf_atbd_1dvar.pdf Please feel free to contact the ROM SAF team for more information (http://www.romsaf.org/helpdesk).
