Description
Dear GRAS SAF GTS User Issued: 2009-11-27 14:25 UTC As a consequence of the possible degraded GRAS level1 b data, the GRAS SAF refractivity product may also be degraded for high altitudes. Please see the following message from Eumetsat. ---snip--- Dear all, earlier today we experienced some irregularities in the clock bias estimation of GRAS clock in our operational processing of the GRAS data. As a consequence, GRAS level 1b data for measurement times between 08:48 and 10:21 UTC has been slightly degraded, experiencing upper level bending angle biases of up to ± 10 microradians for setting and rising occultations, respectively. Bending angle data quality at altitudes below 35 km probably has not been affected during this period. We could resolve the issue by resetting the clock bias estimation process at 10:21; therefore, GRAS level 1b data taken after 10:21 UTC is within its nominal requirements again. We are currently investigating the cause of the problem.
