| Dear GRAS SAF GTS User Issued 2010-06-30 14:30 UTC Due to a software upgrade of the GRAS processor at EUMETSAT there will be a risk of a brief outage of GRAS SAF level 2 data tomorrow ( 2010-07-01 ). The changes will not affect the quality of the data. Please see enclosed message from EUMETSAT. Subject: GRAS outage last Saturday (26.06.2010) - and a reminder for a GRAS update Date: 2010-06-28 09:58 UTC From: Christian Marquardt ---snip--- As I'm writing to you all anyway, I'd like to give a reminder that we will upgrade the operational GRAS processing to version 2.16.1 on Thursday. One of the changes in the configuration is that data after POD resets will only be flagged for 4 hours (currently 8), as the present setting is indeed overly pessimistic. We have also made a number of internal changes which will allow us to support enhanced data products from GSN in the future; an extrapolation of the ionospheric correction will also open up the possibility to perform raw sampling measurements higher up in the troposphere without affecting the geometrical optics processing which is in operations currently. Please note that these changes will not be activated on Thursday, but only in the coming weeks as we need still need to finalize the required changes in the downstream processing at the GRAS SAF. We will inform you about these changes seperately.
