| Dear GRAS SAF data user Issued 2010-07-15 12:35 UTC We currently prepare for an upgrade of our processing software in collaboration with the EUMETSAT Central Application Facility. This upgrade will include extrapolation of the L2 signal for ionospheric correction at lower altitudes, and will enable the processing of data where the L2 signal is missing, but the L1/CA signal is present. In particular this will have influence on rising occultations, but also to some extend on setting occultations. As of yet, no firm date for the upgrade has been set. We send out this email because we would like to: 1) Inform our users as early as possible that this change will happen. 2) Hear if any of our near real-time (NRT) users would like to receive a period of test data in BUFR format before the upgrade. Please let us know if you would like to receive a period of test data in BUFR format before the upgrade, and how much in advance of the upgrade you would need it. Kind regards The GRAS SAF Team |
