Subject: GRAS POD reset today, 27/07/2010
From: Christian Marquardt
Date: 2010-07-27 12:25

Dear all,

unfortunately, another reset in the GRAS processing occurred today, 27 July 2010, for
measurements taken around 08:24 UTC. The reset was caused by maintenance work
in the operational ground segment which accidentally caused one GPS clock file not
being delivered to the GRAS processor.

We have manged to re-initialize the Metop orbit in the operational processing chain with
an already converged orbit from another ground segment. As a consequence, GRAS
data between 08:24 and 10:12 UTC has been flagged as containing bad bending angle
data. All data after 10:12 UTC should be fine again.

In case you're interested, the time series of upper level (60-80km) mean bending angle
values for the last two days can be found at http://twitpic.com/294qd6 (the reset
corresponds to to the increased value on the on the right); the figure still highlights the
weekend's reset on the left.

With our apologies,

 Christian.
