ROM SAF system upgrade related to production of Metop ICDR and Offline products

Dear ROM SAF Data User

The ROM SAF production system for Metop ICDR and Offline products has been upgraded and the delayed Metop ICDR and Offline products for September 2021 have been published (see previous UNS below). The products comprise the following product identifiers:

- Metop ICDR: GRM-29-I1

- Metop Offline: GRM-08 to 13, GRM-24, GRM-46 to 51, GRM-101, GRM-103, GRM-53 to 59, GRM-83 to 89, GRM-93 to 99, GRM-191 to 192, GRM-194

The product version for both Metop ICDR and Offline have been upgraded to version 1.2 and the changes to the algorithms compared to version 1.1 are as follows:

- Metop ICDR and Offline:
Fixing a limitation in the ROM SAF processing of very long occultations since ionospheric tracking capability was uploaded to Metop-A on 20 July 2021.

- Metop Offline:
The 1D-Var retrieval has been changed to allow negative humidity in the solution.

We are planing some maintenance updates. This will delay the release of the Interim Climate Data Record (ICDR) and offline products for September 2021. The products are expected to be released in January 2022.
