| Dear GRAS SAF GTS user Issued 2011-05-03 10:55 UTC Due to an update of the GRAS instrument software on May 5th, there will be an outage of upstream GRAS level 1 b data followed by a period of degraded data. GRAS SAF products will be flagged accordingly. The update will be implemented between 2011-05- 05 07:50 UTC and 2011-05-05 20:00 UTC . This update was previously scheduled to the 19th of April but was postponed to May 5th. Please see original snippet from EUMETSAT helpdesk below ************************************* - the on-board software update will improve the availability of GRAS measurements by avoiding tracking unhealthy GPS satellites. - on 19/04/2011, the GRAS instrument will be switched off occultation mode between 0640Z and 1121Z. At the restart of occultation measurements, we anticipate a reset of the Precise Orbit Determination, resulting in a few hours of degraded products, and will monitor the product quality before resuming the dissemination of GRAS level 1 products on EUMETCast and GTS. ************************************* For further questions about the instrument update please contact the central EUMETSAT helpdesk: http://www.eumetsat.int/Home/Main/DataAccess/HelpdeskService/index.htm?l=en Kind regards The GRAS SAF Team |
