DATE:   2014-05-26 06:09
TYPE:   NRT-GTS
Description

Dear ROM SAF GTS User

Issued 2014-05-26 06:08 UTC

Due to a collision avoidance manoeuvre for Metop-B, the Metop-B bending angle products were degraded yesterday. Also the level 2a refractivity products were affected.

For more details see the message from Christian Marquardt below.

Level 2a Metop-A/GRAS refractivity products were not affected.

With kind regards
The ROM SAF Team

Dear all,

in order to avoid a potential collision with a known space debris object, EUMETSAT will perform a collision avoidance
manoeuvre for Metop-B

today (Sunday), 2014/05/25 around 14:55 UTC

For GRAS/Metop-B level 1 products, a reset of the Precise Orbit Determination system will be required. Thus,
bending angle data will degraded for up to 4 hours after the manoeuvre, i.e. approximately until 19:00 UTC.
Downstream level 2 data from GRAS/Metop-B (refractivity produced by the ROM SAF) will also be affected.

Please note that no impact is expected for GRAS/Metop-A data.

With kind regards,

Christian.
