follow-up information about PPF upgrade

Dear GRAS SAF GTS user Issued 2009-07-29 15:40 UTC Regarding the upgrade of the PPF at the Eumetsat Central Facility, we have received the following message from Eumetsat. As expected, the upgrade had no visible impact on the GRAS data products. ---snip--- Dear all, as planned, we performed the installation of v2.15 of the GRAS level 1b processing software earlier today. The new version is used for GRAS data products with sensing times 08:42 UTC onwards. As expected, a POD reset was performed and will cause the data to be flagged as degraded for the coming 8 hours (that is, until approximately 16:45 UTC), although the actual data quality very likely remains to be nominal through the entire period. We currently plan another server swap of the GRAS processing during tomorrow which carries a small risk for another interruption. We have run the same procedure a couple times until now, though, and never experienced any problems. I will inform you by email only if something goes wiong; if not, you shouldn't see any impact in the GRAS data products.
