Dear GRAS SAF GTS user Issued 2011-01-05 09:20 UTC Upstream GRAS level 1 b data was degraded yesterday in a period of approx. 4-5 hours. GRAS SAF level 2 products was flagged accordingly. Please see detailed message from EUMETSAT below. Kind regards The GRAS SAF Team Forwarded message: Subject: GRAS product quality degradation yesterday, 4th January 4 2011 Date: 2011-01-05 09:11 UTC From: Christian Marquardt Dear all, first of all: A Happy New Year! Unfortunately, the operational GRAS processing experienced a reset of its Precise Orbit Determination component around noon yesterday, 04/01/2011. As usual, this reset was followed by a period exhibiting degraded level 1b (and higher) data quality, and data has been flagged accordingly for 4 hours (until about 16:30 UTC) after the event. We are currently investigating the cause of the reset and will of course do what's needed in order to to avoid future re-occurrences if possible. And we apologize sincerely for any inconvenience this renewed glitch in our processing might have caused on your side. With kind regards, Christian. -- Dr. Christian Marquardt, Polar System Product Expert EUMETSAT, Am Kavalleriesand 31, D-64295 Darmstadt, Germany
